Looking for overwater bungalows near Florida? I’ve got you.

One of the questions I get asked the most is  “Are there any overwater bungalows in Florida?”. The answer is yes, but only in one location. The only overwater bungalows in Florida are at the Disney Polynesian resort.

However, if you want overwater bungalows close by Florida there are many to choose from. Some of my favorites are Nayara Bocas del Toro in Panama, The Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico, and Aruba Ocean Villas.

So get comfy and let me walk you through some of the hotels with rooms on the water that are easy to reach from Florida.

if you are looking for all-inclusive resorts in Florida I also have you covered.

12 Prettiest Overwater Bungalows Near Florida

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – Florida

While I have been to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort often I have yet to stay in their overwater rooms. They are very sought after, very exclusive, and very pricey, but what an experience.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is one of my favorite hotels on Disney property. It is a happening chill place that always seems to be buzzing. The cocktails are great, the food is some of the best at Disney and you can see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach of your bungalow.

The bungalows here sit on stilts on Seven Seas Lagoon with balconies looking towards Magic Kingdom. They sleep up to eight adults and come with a fully equipped kitchen, a washer/dryer and a private deck and plunge pool.

Both bedrooms have doors leading to the deck and these bungalows are described by everyone who visits as spacious.

For most, these will be a bucket list destination with a night costing as much as a Disney break and they are often booked up well in advance. However, if these are in your budget I’m sure nothing lives up to this experience.

If you are looking for overwater bungalows in Florida then these are the only ones. And if you do go can you please invite me.

Sandals South Coast – Jamaica

If you are looking for overwater bungalows in the Caribbean then I can highly recommend a trip here.  I absolutely loved my trip here and even with my strange eating preference, I could always find food to eat in the all-inclusive package.

The resort is a couple-only resort and is situated in San San Beach Jamaica. It’s an all-inclusive resort that gives you access to everything including all food and drinks.

While the facilities at this resort are outstanding the bungalow was so fabulous we found ourselves hardly even leaving. All bungalows have a glass floor, an outside soaking tub, and an overwater hammock. It was bliss. Oh, and I forgot to mention the butler who can arrange everything for you, I mean why would you want to leave?

This was an amazing experience. If you are looking for overwater bungalows close by Florida I can’t recommend these enough.

Palafitos Overwater Bungalows – Mexico

These huts on the water near Florida are the height of luxury with glass floors, a private plunge pool, a hot tub, and incredible views they make the perfect honeymoon vacation.

Situated on Playa del Carmen Beach this adults-only resort is all-inclusive and you won’t need to worry about a thing. If you want to relax this is where to come.

These are the perfect romantic retreat destination. Take a look at our Mexico Packing list to help organize your vacation.

Aruba Ocean Villas – Aruba

These bespoke overwater bungalows near Florida come with a list of famous guests that would make your eyes water.

Each villa is stunningly designed differently and with a style all of its own. They are a wonderful balance of design and nature and I honestly think nothing compares to their penthouse villas.

The Isla Alistaire bungalow sits on its own small island, the Lou Lou has a wrap-around deck and Dushi Sue has a deck big enough to hold a party on and its own private tiki bar.

The penthouses are out of this world. Most have stone baths, tiki bars, open-air showers, pools, and countless other amenities.

This is the ultimate luxury with a price tag to match. Staying here would be my dream come true.

Royalton Antigua – Antigua

There are overwater bungalows and then there are overwater bungalows. This location is all about the ultimate overwater bungalow luxury experience

These have two decks one with an infinity pool and the other with an overwater hammock and access to the sea. Inside there is a very large glass floor.

These bungalows are quite large in comparison to some and the bathrooms are next level. There is a modern very Instagram-friendly vibe to the décor in here and throughout the whole resort.

Of course, you have a butler and access to anything you could imagine. While the bungalows are adult-only the resort is children-friendly friendly so keep that in mind.

These overwater bungalows near Florida really are next level and are definitely on my bucket list.

Eclypse de Mar Acqua Lodge – Panama

Located in Bastimentos, Eclypse de Mar, Acqua Lodge offers private bungalows with individual hammocks and stairs that provide access to the ocean.

Now compared to some of the others featured here these are more basic and perhaps a little dated but you won’t be paying the really high prices and there may be a bargain to be had here.

There is a honeymoon suite and over-the-water bungalows. The only difference really is that the overwater bungalows have two rooms and can sleep four, the facilities are the same.

You will find a small glass panel in each, a four-poster bed with drapes, a small outside deck, and a large bathroom.

This resort seems to work more with nature rather than carving its way through it and I love that. It also has a wonderful treehouse accommodation.

I love places like that, ones that feel less commercialized and local. If you are looking for overwater bungalow resorts near Florida that are more affordable this one might be for you.

Sandals Royal Caribbean – Jamaica

I do think that when it comes to romantic resorts, Sandals really does deliver and these overwater bungalows near Florida are no exception.

These overwater bungalows contain all the facilities you would expect, glass floor, plunge pool, terrace, and sea views. The deck on these bungalows is huge with a large outdoor space to sit and relax.

The resort is located in Montego Bay and is an all-inclusive private resort and island featuring all the amenities and facilities you could wish for.

They also have suites that have direct access to the pool and other waterways within the resort if an overwater bungalow is not in your budget. I stayed in these at the resort and they are just as perfect.

Banyan Tree Mayakoba – Mexico

Here your overwater bungalow is over a lagoon rather than the sea so it’s a little different but just as beautiful.

What I love about these is they seem much more private than some of the sea ones and the sunset rooftops are incredible.

They are one-bedroom villas set on two floors and have an outdoor shower, spa bath, and heated plunge pool. The décor is simple yet luxurious and has a very natural tactile feel.

These haven’t followed the cutter-cookie approach to overwater accommodation and I love that. They are highly designed and offer the discerning traveling a different experience.

These overwater bungalows close by Florida offer something a little more unusual.

Punta Caracol Acqua Lodge – Panama

Painted with bright colors and featuring a rather unique and intriguing layout I adore these huts on the water near Florida.

On the stunning Bocas del Toro Archipelago these huts are eco-friendly with palm roofs and four poster beds and are way less expensive than other options listed here.

And the best bit is they have suites to cater to large parties of six or more.

They are a little basic in comparison to other overwater bungalows but you have everything you need and still come with a deck and hammock. The Master Suite has one bedroom, 4 sofa beds, and two decks.

The restaurant is located in one of the cabins and offers a candlelight dinner with incredible views.

If you are after overwater bungalow resorts near Florida with a difference then give these a go. I have to say it looks like a real adventure.

Nayara Bocas del Toro – Panama

I have to say this resort comes in at number one on my must-visit. It somehow manages to be luxurious without any pretentiousness and is about immersing you in the environment.

The resort is all built on silts and off-grid so they didn’t harm the environment and sustainability seems to run through everything they do. This is more than a vacation it’s an experience.

The overwater bungalows have a very Balinese feel and are effortlessly stylish. The plunge pool is a great size the decks are a good size and the bungalows are large.

The resort has all the amenities and facilities you could want. They also cater really well for vegans here which is a plus for me.

When it comes to overwater bungalow resorts near Florida this one really does have everything.

Sandals Grande St Lucian -Saint Lucia

Yes, I know another Sandals resort but they do overwater bungalows so well. However, this time I have moved to St Lucia.

If you are looking for overwater bungalows in the Caribbean then these are perfect for you. You will find an outside tub, a large deck, an overwater hammock, and of course the obligatory glass floor. And I have to mention the butler and 24-hour in-room dining if you wish.

There aren’t many overwater bungalows at this location and they are a little closer to shore than some of the others. Nevertheless, they are just as beautiful

The resort is set in Gros Inlet so it has a little bit of a different feel to a typical beach resort, The amenities and facilities are top notch as you would expect and it’s couples only all-inclusive as are all Sandals.

Anthony’s Key Resort – Honduras

There is a real homely feeling to Anthony Key which I love. While some resorts can sometimes feel alienating and cold in their luxury offering here they have managed to make this feel like you are staying in someone’s home.

The Key Deluxe bungalows are nestled along the perimeter of Anthony’s Key and are really spacious. They have a huge covered deck with a chair table and hammocks.

Unusually these bungalows can sleep three or four and are not set up solely for honeymooners which I like.

To get to the main island with all the facilities you just board the resort boat.

I love these as they offer something a little different and also work for families.

As you can see when it comes to overwater bungalows near Florida there are so many to choose from. I personally want to visit Nayara Bocas del Toro in Panama and the Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico. If you visit one please come back and tell me about your experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels with rooms on the water or overwater bungalows near Miami I hope I have whetted your appetite.
